BoisCoursier is the region located in between Charente in the South (Cognac), the Limousin in the East, and “Les Deux-Sevres” in the West side (“Marais Poitevin”). The area is composed of Civraisien and the country of the 6 Valleys.

The Civraisien country, kingdom of the fishermen, is crossed by Charente, (a fisherman’s paradise) with his natural small islands and the shaded banks of the “Clain river”.

Thousand of medieval legends were born in the high oak groves of the valley from “La Vonne”. On the traces of the “Mélusine fairy”, come to discover its inheritance, witness of a tumultuous past, composed of a mix of harmoniously Romance churches, medieval castles and archeological sites.


Poitiers town of art and history, remarkable by its exceptional architectural heritage is within 20min in the north of Boiscoursier. You will be able to venture in the Grottes de la Norée (40min) for the big thrills as well as the famous“Futuroscope for the technology fanatics.

The adventurers will particularly like the Vallée des Singes in “Romagne”, where you can approach a range of 350 wild animals. In Chauvigny (enclosure of the castle of the bishops) you will attend to the impressive show of Giants eagles, vultures and falcons coming from the different regions of the world.
